Päivi Eerola has bred Shetland Sheepdog under prefix Doing. Her first Sheltie became in 1970 and she started breeding during 1970’s. In 1979 she imported sable female Int & Nord Ch Jefsfire Honey from UK and this female was of great importance for Sheltie breeding. “Honey” had two excellent champion descendants: sable female Fin Ch Doing Gling-Gling and tricolor male Fin Ch Doing The Treasure. In 1981 Eerola imported from Sweden a sable female, Nord Ch Moorwood Gleaming Belle. This female had five Ch-descendants. Two of these were also International Show Champions: sable male Int & Nord & Dk Ch NordW-85 WW-89 Doing Magic Move (Sheltie of the Year In Finland in 1983, group winner at Kuopio All Breed Show in 1985) and sister sable female Int & Nord Ch Doing More Fantasy (Sheltie of the Year In Finland in 1985). Magic Move was the first Finnish Sheltie to achieve the Nordic Winner -title. Päivi Eerola is the first Sheltie breeder who has achieved the Vuolasvirta-prize for breeding merits, the highest award a breeder can get from the Finnish Kennel Club. She became judge in 1990, first breed of course Sheltie. Nowadays she is qualified to judge all breeds in FCI groups 1,3,4 and 9 and almost all breed in FCI group 2 and many breeds in FCI group 5. The longest judging appointment has been in Australia.
