James Donahue
United States
James began exhibiting Afghan Hounds as a teenager while living in central Texas. His first champion was Multi Group Winning CH Kasban The Wizard of Suncrest, bred by Laura Mauldin and Leslie Stoffles. His first mentor in dogs was Carl Sanders of Zebec Afghans. James got his first Saluki, GCH Hillside’s Adonijah of Chandani, in 2006 and enjoyed immediate success in the saluki ring. In addition to successfully handling his own Afghans and Salukis, he also finished a number of dogs for others. James joined the Wynsyr team in 2010. In January of 2011 his bitch, CH Beachbrook’s Drama Rama, gave birth to a litter of eight puppies sired by SBIS CH Wynsyr Out of Africa, marking his first co-breeding with Wynsyr. Other co-breeding efforts include litters with Gail Mofford and Kirby Moorhouse (Tres Chic Afghans, Canada), Tony Saia and Floyd Gale (Beachbrook) and Rosemary Sutton (Summerwinds). James is approved by the AKC to judge twenty-four hound breeds, Italian greyhounds. He has had the honor of judging many prestigious assignments in the Unites States and Australia and looks forward to continuing his education and pursuing the balance of the hound group. He is the Judges’ Education Chair for the Afghan Hound Club of America and presents educational seminars and workshops nationwide.
