Ilva Kubasova
Latvia
I have loved animals since childhood and I started showing dogs when I was only 13 years old. My first dog was a long-haired Collie that I started this lifelong journey with and fell in love with showing and training dogs. Since then, I have had Chow Chows, Poodles, Yorkshire Terriers, Russian Toy Terriers and Lhasa Apso. But my heart belongs to Chihuahuas for more than fifteen years now and I have bred many great show winners and champions that I can be proud of in my kennel “Golden Nest”.
My daily occupation is also related to pets. In 1996, I founded my company ZooServiss Group, which is one of the largest pet goods wholesalers in Latvia, as well as a chain of pet stores ZooCentrs, veterinary clinics and an online pet store. Since 1996, I have been the president of the largest Latvian regional club – the Ogre Kennel Club. In 2016, I was approved as an FCI expert in the Chihuahua breed, in 2018 I was approved for the entire FCI group 9 and received international expert qualification, and currently I’m also a judge for the FCI group 3. I have judged in numerous European countries and greatly enjoy doing so.
