Classes Circuit
The FCI and the Finnish Kennel Club’s Dog Show Regulations are observed at World Dog Show 2025, and classes are determined accordingly.
Please note that the minimum age requirement of the dog must be met no later than on the day of the show. Once the entry has closed, the class the dog has been entered to can no longer be changed.

Minor Puppy Class
5 – under 7 months, unofficial class. The best male and bitch puppy awarded with prize of honour participate in the Best of Breed Puppy competition. If there is more than one breed in the same specialty show, the Best of Breed Puppy continues to compete for Best in Show Puppy.
Puppy Class
7–under 9 months, unofficial class. The best male and bitch puppy awarded with prize of honour participate in the Best of Breed Puppy competition. If there is more than one breed in the same specialty show, the Best of Breed Puppy continues to compete for Best in Show Puppy.
Junior Class
9–under 18 months. Compete for Junior CAC, CAC, Best of Breed Junior, and Best of Breed. The Best of Breed Junior participates in the Best in Show Junior competition if there is more than one breed in the same specialty show.
Intermediate Class
15–under 24 months. Compete for CAC, and Best of Breed.
Open Class
15 months onwards. Compete for CAC, and Best of Breed.
Working Class
15 months onwards. Compete for CAC, and Best of Breed. When entering Finnish dogs, the result that entitles for entry in Working Class must be stated on the entry form. For foreign dogs, a Working Class Certificate (WCC) must be enclosed with the entry. The dog is automatically transferred to Open Class if the WCC is missing or if the result stated on the entry form or recorded on the WCC is insufficient.
Champion Class
15 months onwards. For International or National Champions. When entering a foreign dog, a Championship Certificate must be enclosed with the entry. The foreign Champion title must be confirmed. The dog is automatically transferred to Open class if the Championship Certificate is missing. Foreign Champion dogs compete for CAC (unless the dog already is a Finnish Champion), all dogs compete for Best of Breed.
Veteran Class
8 years onwards. Compete for Veteran CAC, CAC, Best of Breed Veteran, and Best of Breed. The Best of Breed Veteran participates in the Best in Show Veteran competition if there is more than one breed in the same specialty show.
Best Brace
For a dog and a bitch of the same breed and variety belonging to the same owner, shown by a single handler. In order to be eligible for entering in this class, both dogs must be individually entered in any of the previous, official classes. In each breed, four best braces are placed in order of merit. There are no finals for best brace.
Breeders’ Class
For groups of four dogs of the same breed and variety, bred by the same breeder. In each breed, four best groups are placed in order of merit. In order to be eligible for entering in this class, all dogs must be individually entered in any of the previous, official classes and the dogs must be awarded with the quality grading excellent or very good at the current show. If the best group of the breed is awarded with a prize of honour, it goes on to compete for the Best in Show Breeder’s group if there is more than one breed in the same specialty show.
Progeny class
Quality grading where a male or a bitch competes with a group formed by four of its offspring of the same breed. The male or the bitch does not have to be entered to other classes but must be presented together with its progeny group. The offspring must be awarded with the quality grading excellent or very good at the current show. In the competition class for progeny class, the judge ranks four progeny groups according to order of merit. If the best group of the breed is awarded with a prize of honour, it goes on to compete for the title Best in Show Progeny group if there is more than one breed in the same specialty show.
Quality grades
The result of the quality grading is indicated by the following colours
Excellent– red
Very Good – blue
Good– yellow
Sufficient – green
Disqualified – grey
Cannot be judged– brown
